✨ WITCHCRAFT WEDNESDAY ✨
Next up in our series of tales from The Book of Forgotten Witches is a strange story of a Witches’ Sabbath-like event from Südtirol, Italy.
Have you ever heard the legend of the Haselhexe, a girl who is brought back to life after being eaten by other witches?
In an alpine village in the Dolomites a servant sees a stable girl sit on a wooden baking paddle she has smeared with magic ointment and fly out of the house up the chimney. So, the boy grabs a broom, smears it with the same ointment and is soon on his way to the peaks of the Schlern mountain.
There he comes upon the stable girl standing on the foggy mountain in the middle of a circle of dancing witches, who suddenly throw themselves upon her and tear her to pieces. They eat her flesh until only the bones remain…
Strange as it may sound, that’s not the end of Haselhexe’s gruesome tale. Find out what happened to her next in The Book of Forgotten Witches!
